Donald Trump's Framework of Retribution and Reward

Trump's voracious desire for retribution has quickly morphed into a methodical framework. During the past year, the leader's fury and whims have taken on the shape of official policies in ways comparable to past authoritarian systems. Government figures who resist his demands are immediately dismissed and replaced by devotees. Critical leaders who question him risk prosecution, court proceedings and penalties. Adversaries have been categorized under presidential memoranda as “hostile to national interests”, “opposed to religious values” and “opposing economic freedom”, and threatened with criminal charges as “terrorists”.

Federal Agencies Remade

All instance involving targeting of political opponents and immunity for supporters demonstrates its own particular characteristics. However, regardless of their specific nature, they represent examples of what has arisen as a calculated technique. Such incidents are not coincidental. His removal of federal attorneys and FBI agents, alongside his placement of devotees in key positions, started quickly, soon developed a consistency, and has now been shaped into a structure. The justice department and the law enforcement agency have been restructured into partisan organizations under the president's direct direction to carry out his directives. Unfairness has been made normal. It constitutes the retribution system.

Administration is preoccupied with penalizing the President's alleged opponents than they are with protecting our national security.

Inside the System

The beginnings of this mechanism has been exposed in the lawsuit of three former high-ranking FBI agents submitted in late summer in the federal court in the capital against agency head a senior appointee and justice department head another official for wrongful dismissal in “a campaign of retribution against Plaintiffs for what the accused judged to be a failure to demonstrate proper devotion”. In the complaint that one official, the ex- interim leader, recounts a discussion in which Patel “freely confessed the impropriety of his behavior”.

The official had attempted to protect law enforcement officers from being terminated, the filing states. Patel informed him that “they” – perceived by Driscoll to be the White House and federal prosecutors – had ordered him to fire all those who they considered as having worked on a legal probe against him. The complaint continues: “The director explained that he had to dismiss the people his leaders told him to remove, because his ability to keep his own position relied on the ouster of the officials who handled investigations involving the leader. The director noted that there was no option he or the official could do to stop these or any other dismissals, because ‘the agency tried to place the chief in detention and he recalls it clearly.’” Once Driscoll advised him he was breaking the bureau's own regulations, the director supposedly said “he understood that and he knew the nature of the swift terminations were likely unlawful”.

Broad Impact

After the director's alleged confession to the official, the Department of Justice and the law enforcement agency have been weakened and redirected for his revenge apparatus. Multiple of the agency's top officials were dismissed or pushed out in the initial period of the presidency. About numerous lawyers at the department have accepted a “voluntary departure plan”. At least several federal prosecutors, such as those in the Manhattan division, resigned in objection over what they regarded as ideological pressure in dropping the corruption case against the New York City mayor, a political figure, in exchange for his collaboration with the administration's federal agency roundups of migrants. The public integrity section of DoJ, which handles corruption cases, has been reduced to minimal staff. The rights protection unit has been severely reduced: seventy percent of its staff has left. A third of executives at the department have left. The section implementing conservation statutes has seen departures of half its management.

Incentives and Penalties

Concerning the legal matter, the interim prosecutor for the southern district of New York, the official, quit in objection against what she labeled as the “trade-off”. A key figure, the president's “border czar,” appeared as the implementer with him on television to state: “Unless he complies, I'll be back in the city.”. And, a former official, previously the acting deputy attorney general and a ex-lawyer, who brokered the arrangement, was given an court role, a possible springboard to the judicial branch.

Trump's exemption for offenses perpetrated while in power, granted by the extraordinary decision of the GOP-led on the judicial body, thus preventing his legal action over the January 6 insurrection and preserving his electoral prospects for the presidential race, is the cornerstone on which he stands to defend his supporters. With such immunity, he has been freed to authorize corruption. The effect of the supreme court decision saturates his presidency and the GOP thoroughly. The legal case has spread. Similar to Richard Nixon's legal adviser the figure commented about the Watergate
